We are lucky to have an amazing group of friends to support us on our big day, as they’ve continued to do throughout our many years of friendship.

Courtney Krause

How they met:
Giuliana and Courtney met in 2008 at the University of San Francisco School of Law. Legend has it that Courtney only became friends with Giuliana because they randomly ended up in the same study group—and not because of Giuliana’s persuasive email (“I like to work out and hang out”) sent out when she was looking for housing in San Francisco.

Ann Hampton

How they met: Calista met Ann at a table, telling Ann very directly how the hospital’s overnight crew was going to change their schedule. Look, it was a set up by bad management who couldn't be direct. Ann forgave Calista once they became one Dynamic Duo, handling one of the nation’s most busy Level One Trauma hospitals overnight. Ann grew to appreciate Calista's direct manner, as she had no choice in their closet (the “office” was a converted linen closet). They cried, laughed, were cynical, repossessed blankets, and handled very serious situations before hitting the bar (some mornings after their shift ended at 7am). Dynamic Duo till the end.

Sarah Mohn

How they met: As teenagers at the mall, Calista was running around as a goth girl. Sarah was running around with her best Texas guy pal, having just moved back to Dallas. They, you know, hung out at the mall—like teenagers do. The next day, Sarah walked into Coach Brown’s class and Calista “claimed” her. Calista has known Sarah for over 20 years, she is her “sister from another mister,” the mother of Calista’s god child, and they’ve been through it all. Sarah is Calista’s little big sis and Calista is Sarah’s big little.

Rhonda Headley

How they met: Calista met Rhonda in the world’s worst and most interesting ceramics class at Eastern New Mexico University. Rhonda had awesome spiked hair and, as an introvert, was very unsure of Calista. Calista was a crazy, loud Dallasite—but fun at the same time. Then Rhonda ended up moving to the DFW metroplex and they have been the best of friends ever since—FROs till the end.

Aida Navarro

How they met: Although Calista and Aida both worked at the VA, they didn't actually know each other. Aida had overheard that Calista liked to hike and was looking for a workout buddy. Being the outgoing person she is, Aida invited Calista out to hike on her family’s beautiful coastal property. They started off as hiking buddies, then they decided to jog together. Every morning, they ran at 5am, running until 3 miles became normal. Calista had never run in her life! Through their sweat, early morning bad breath, hiking or jogging they learned that they appreciated the other for exactly who they were. Nature is where they are most happy—Aida is Calista’s coastal gal pal.

Rachelle Lerner

How they met: Rachelle and Giuliana met in 2004 at Amherst College, growing their friendship by being randomly assigned to live in the all-girls floor of Appleton. Despite growing up on opposite sides of the country, Rachelle and Giuliana bonded over having both attended boarding schools, watching The O.C., and a shared love of the Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights soundtrack and movie. Giuliana and Rachelle rekindled their friendship in 2014 when the #Stone302 crew got back together again at Rachelle’s wedding. They’ve enjoyed growing their relationship as adults, going wine tasting, catching burlesque shows, and watching/dancing to the Super Bowl LIV halftime show in Costco together.

Matthew Hui

How they met: Matt and Giuliana met in 2004 at Amherst College. After meeting during the first days of orientation, they became good friends living in the Appleton Dormitory and spending hours together for the Amherst College Orchestra. During their epic sophomore year, Matt and Giuliana lived together in the historic Stone social dorm where they, Rachelle, and Maddie threw many epic parties with amazing playlists and Matt’s speciality boom boom juice. #Stone302. Matt and Giuliana have remained good friends over the years, exploring (and eating their way though) New York, San Francisco, Napa, and Mexico together.

Christina Rivero

How they met: Christina and Giuliana met in 2011 at Carr and Ferrell LLP. After getting to know each other at the firm, they remained friends after Christina moved away from (and then moved back) to the Bay Area. In 2013, Giuliana convinced Christina to join her in the legal department at Amazon Lab126, where they built their legal support empire.

Kira Miller

How they met: Kira and Giuliana met in 2014 when Kira joined the elite legal support team at Amazon Lab126. Despite Christina’s initial hesitation at accepting Kira into the team, Kira proved herself more than worthy when she showed up like a champ at the department’s legal support summit in Seattle. From friendships forged out of necessity during their time at Amazon, Kira, Christina, and G have remained good friends—bonding over Asian food, skiing, EDM, and international travel.
